RCIT, "Roman Catholic Investigative Theology," is a dedicated Catholic Nonprofit committed to deepening the understanding and appreciation of Catholic theology. We specialize in developing advanced educational courses that go beyond the standard OCIA/RCIA classes, offering Level 2 and Level 3 courses for those seeking a more profound grasp of Catholic doctrine and teachings. In addition to our advanced courses, we provide a range of Catholic studies designed to enrich the spiritual and intellectual lives of the faithful.
Our mission is rooted in the rich traditions and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, and we strive to foster a deeper connection with the faith through rigorous and comprehensive theological education. We are an approved 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, reflecting our commitment to serving the Catholic community and making our resources accessible to all who seek to deepen their faith and understanding of Catholic theology.
The patron saint for RCIT, "Roman Catholic Investigative Theology", a Catholic Missionary Organization, is Saint Francis de Sales.
St. Francis de Sales was born on August 21, 1567, in Thorens, Duchy of Savoy, to aristocratic parents. Initially groomed for a legal career, he shifted his focus to theology after a personal crisis over predestination. He studied in Paris and Padua, earning a doctorate in 1592. Despite his father's objections, he pursued a religious vocation and became Provost of Geneva in 1593. Known for his preaching and efforts to convert Calvinists in Le Chablais, he was later appointed coadjutor bishop and then Bishop of Geneva in 1602.
As bishop, he emphasized catechesis, clergy guidance, and care for the poor. He co-founded the Visitation Order with St. Jane Frances de Chantal in 1607. Renowned for his writings, including "Introduction to the Devout Life" and "Treatise on the Love of God," his works focused on leading a devout life in any state. He died on December 28, 1622, in Lyons, and was canonized in 1665. His teachings emphasize love over penance, with practical spiritual advice for everyday life. His legacy includes various religious congregations and orders inspired by his spirit and teachings.
